Book excerpt: The Emerald Sceptre is an engrossing fantasy adventure cast in the days of knighthood. It involves wizards, spirits, magic, monsters, evil monarchs and noble knights. The plot revolves around the efforts of the King's son, Prince Ramaz to retrieve the magical sceptre that was stolen by the wicked brother of the King, the evil Prince Sordo. I was encouraged to write this story by my children, who recalled the pleasure they enjoyed as I created fairy stories for them on long car trips required in military transfers to new duty stations. Since the car did not have a radio, these stories helped relieve the monotony of those trips.
