C., October 17, 18, 19, 20, 1877 The Synod of South Carolina met according to adjournment, in the First Presbyterian church Columbia, S. C., and was opened with a sermon by the Rev. D. Harrison, Moderator, from Exodus xxxiii. 15: And he said unto him If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence. After the sermon, the Synod was called to order, prayer was offered by the Moderator, and upon the calling of the roll the following members were found to be present.
