Book excerpt: Excerpt from Notices of Judgment Under the Insecticide Act: Given Pursuant to Section 4 of the Insecticide Act, 1312-1340 This case involved a shipment of qua-sul that was labeled with false and mis leading claims as to its effectiveness as a control for certain fungi and' insects, and as a plant stimulant. On November the United States attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, acting upon a report by the Secretary of Agriculture, filed in the district court a libel praying seizure and condemnation of 12 gallon cans and 26 quart cans of qua-sul'at Philadelphia, Pa. It was alleged in the libel that the article had been shipped in interstate commerce on or about January 29, 1930, by A. R. Gregory, from San Francisco, Calif, to Philadelphia, Pa., and that it was a misbranded insecticide and fungicide within the meaning of the Insecticide Act of 1910.
