Book excerpt: Provides population projections for visible minorities by age and sex for Canada, based on 1991 census data adjusted for net census undercoverage and a comprehensive analysis of recent demographic trends. Three sets of projections representing high, medium, and low growth scenarios, have been produced by means of the Statistics Canada regional cohort component model. This model involves the separate analysis and projection of each of the basic components of population growth: fertility, mortality, and migration, for each province or region. Projections are presented up to the year 2016.
