We carry out a systematic study of linearized perturbations about these backgrounds. This allows us to obtain flux induced moduli masses incorporating the effects of warping. We also present a potential for the four dimensional dynamics of these vacua in terms of ten dimensional quantities which can be used to study various aspects of their physics. We provide a necessary criterion, "slope-dominance," for evading "no-go" results for de Sitter vacua. We study the dynamics of mobile branes, relevant for models of inflation in string theory. We show that potentials for mobile branes receive generic contributions inhibiting slow-roll inflation. We examine supersymmetry breaking when the visible sector resides in a strongly warped throat. We formulate the conditions required for the existence of a description in terms of a 4D SUGRA formulation, or in terms of 4D SUGRA together with soft-breaking terms for such scenarios.
