The inquiry extended three-fourths of a semester (65 days) where students were introduced to various aspects of the writing workshop, including mini-lessons and writing activities such as generating ideas, drafting, sharing, revising, editing, and publishing. Their responses to the workshop can inform the way writing can be taught to students who have traditionally unsuccessful in school.
