While reserve component organizations are not the ideal choice in terms of capabilities and training levels, there may be no options in certain scenarios. Historical trends since the outbreak of the Korean War in 1950 through the 1991 Gulf War indicate that the deployment of large reserve units to an operational theater isa possibility that cannot be dismissed.
