Good readers will read it to see what the dirty old wolf is up to now. Curiosity will of course keep them reading to see if Winston can possibly change. Emergent and struggling readers will feel confident that this is a book they can actually read and enjoy. In the story readers will see a token appearance of The Three Little Pigs and the Grandmother from the Little Red Riding Hood which lends credibility and familiarity to this book. After reading a few pages, the reader will begin to see the wolf transform into a person with feelings and emotions. As the book progresses, Winston grows into a person with diverse feelings and emotions. Winston no longer feels sorry for himself. He becomes a leader of people less fortunate than himself, and by helping others, he starts to believe and feel good about himself. With the illustrations, the book will jump alive. At the end of the story will he continue to be the wonderful wolf that is good to all people or will the ending illustration signal thoughts of returning to his former life?
