The National Park System has two primary objectives: to preserve and protect natural landscapes; and to provide for the public enjoyment of these protected areas. These two objectives at times form a dichotomous relationship. Therefore, the question investigated in this paper is: What are the implications of the increased commercialization of winter visitors' activities in Yellowstone National Park?
