There are rumors of Jeremiah instigating some shooting matches just to earn extra money; he is an excellent shot. Financially, they do well while crossing the wilderness. Jeremiah is a gunsmith, and Jim is a very good cook. They make money every time they come to a settlement or a fort. When they return to Lancaster, their party increases from them to five additional people. The sweethearts have serious plans for a double wedding; Jeremiah and Jim don't see that coming. This is a compelling story loaded with adventure, thrill, excitement, and romance.
