Book excerpt: Excerpt from Catalogue of the Alpha Delta Phi, 1899 The present Catalogue is the thirteenth which has been issued by the Fraternity during the sixty-seven years of its existence. The semi-centennial Catalogue of 1882 marked a new era in the development of publications of the kind, and far excelled any of its predecessors in completeness and thoroughness of workmanship. The compilers of the present work have taken as a basis the semi-centennial Catalogue, have followed as far as possible its system, and hope that in some degree they may have approached its excellence. The general arrangement is almost precisely the same as in the semi-centennial Catalogue. The page is slightly larger, in order to avoid undue thickness. Among the minor modifications are the separation of the Chapter-lists by a bastard title and the addition of running class-numbers at the heads of all pages, to facilitate finding of class-lists. Views of the homes of various Chapters have been added. The building of beautiful and commodious Chapter-houses is one of the directions in which most progress has been made since the semi-centennial year.
