Book excerpt: Currently, about 520,000 veterans are waiting for a disability claim decision from the Department of Veterans Affairs, with about 235,000 veterans waiting 125 days or more. Using the knowledge that I have gained through thirty-one years of processing veteran’s disability claims, I have written a book that will help veterans shepherd their claims through the VA bureaucracy. "Keep Your VA Claim Moving" gives the basic facts about how the VA claims process works as well as insights into how the VA works that I’ve gained from working for the VA for thirty-one years. Having retired in 2014 my information is up to date. Since retiring I have done consulting work with a law firm on VA claims. This will help veterans who are considering filing a claim and also those who have already filed a claim and are wondering what has happened to it. There have been several books published in 2013 and 2014 on the subject of how to file a VA disability claim. This book is written by someone who is not just a consumer of VA benefits but who has actually worked for VA processing claims
