You havea right, therefore, to demand, according to usage established from time immemorial, in our great and favoured land, what those principles and practice are, and how I propose to carry out what I am pledged to execute. You have a right to enquire and to know who I am, and what I have done to entitle me to the high prerogative of being your represen tative, and if not satisfied with the doctrines I inculcate, and the claims I shall endeavour to substantiate, have the privi legs of supporting some other candidate better calculated to secure your rights and immunities.
