Book excerpt: This is a fictional book based on actual events that took place in our lives and the lives of our families. It is a story of two people who had completely drifted apart, virtually overnight. Roger's wife Sandra turning into someone none of us knew. She was throwing her life away, a life her and her husband had invested twenty-five years in. Only she knew for what. The lies she told about her husband always had a motive. She wanted everything, and if it took cheating and lying, so be it. Sandra wanted people to believe Roger was abusing her, so people would feel sorry for her. It also would pave the way for her to even try and kill Roger and have an alibi. But as she told her daughter it had all backfired on her. Abuse is a word most times relating to women and children, but sometimes it's just a word nothing more. It was used a lot in the lives of our friends, but most of it was lies. People change, not always for the good. They say and do horrible things to each other. Even by accident, I hope you can understand the love one man had for his wife and the price they both paid. The changes Sandra went through; made no sense until we realized there was another man in her life. A lot of lives would have been changed and a lot of hearts would not have been broken. In the end we were all left with empty hearts and bitterness. No matter how much we uncovered it still didn't help us when we needed answers. That is why Only God Knew
