The most prolific of these Latin war poets was Colonel Sir Joseph Alfred Bradney (1859-1923), who in 1919 even published a booklet Noctes Flandricae or Nights in Flanders with war poetry written in Belgium and France. This book tells the story of both his Latin poetry and his involvement in the Great War.
