He tells the story of a person called Hayy bin Yaqzan who grew up on an uninhabited island alone, and symbolises the human being, and his relationship with the universe and religion. It contains many sub-myths and contained philosophical implications.This story has been known in the West since the seventeenth century, and has been translated into several languages, including Latin, Hebrew, English, French, German and Dutch.
