The diagnosis of septic infection is sometimes quite easy, and again it is shrouded in obscurity. The cases which are the most virulent are apt to have the fewest local symptoms upon which to base a diagnosis. In all cases of doubt it is advisable to make a visual inspection of the vulva, vagina, and cervix.
