En ambos casos, el prefijo se complementa con la palabra topos, que se traduce como "lugar".Aunque con el paso del tiempo el t�rmino utop�a se haya popularizado como sin�nimo de perfecci�n, u objetivo inalcanzable, Tom�s Moro no le atribuye expl�citamente ese significado en su obra.
